Autism Teacher Location: Sutton, South West London Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance Contract Type: Full, Time - Long-Term - May half-term/September We are working with a primary school in need of a specialist teacher, to lead and teach the Autism Base on site. Class Ratio - Between 8-12 Excellent Resources Well-equipped classrooms, strong therapeutic support, and a curriculum tailored to individual learning needs, ASC friendly strategies are used within the classes visual symbols, reduced language, less distracting environment, sensory programmes, emotions scale. Collaborative Teamwork Work alongside an experienced and highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including therapists and specialist support staff. The Autism Teacher Role: Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to primary aged pupils with SEND, ensuring an inclusive and personalised approach to learning. Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports both emotional and academic growth. Work closely with families, therapists, and support staff to develop individual learning plans and meet EHCP targets. Champion inclusive education, adapting teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners. Who will thrive in this Autism Teacher role: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or a passion for SEND education. Strong Understanding of SEND Knowledge of autism, communication needs, and social-emotional challenges. Resilient and Compassionate A nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting children with complex needs. Team Player Willing to work collaboratively within a supportive and dynamic team.
