Join us as an Associate Professor within our Law School, helping shape the future of legal education and research.
We are currently seeking to appoint an Associate Professor to the Law School. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and academically driven legal professionals to join a growing team. We are seeking individuals with a strong teaching background, an active research profile, and a passion for contributing to innovation within legal education, and placing the student experience at the centre.
Working across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, you will play a leading role in curriculum development, quality enhancement, student success, and academic leadership, while contributing to the wider strategic aims of the University. You will conduct high quality, original research in areas that inform the Law School's academic portfolio, and you will engage in appropriate dissemination and produce high quality research outputs.
Responsibilities- Maintain an active research profile, contributing ideas and applied original research activity within the field of law
- Lead high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes
- Contribute to curriculum design, continuous improvement activities and educational innovation
- Act as a module leader, academic coach and mentor, supporting students throughout their learning journey
- Support and mentor junior academic colleagues, contributing to performance development and academic excellence
- Lead or contribute to projects, workstreams, taskforces and wider university initiatives
- Build and maintain external academic and professional networks, acting as an ambassador for the University
- Seek opportunities for external funding to strengthen the research profile of the Law School and ULaw
- PhD in Law or a relevant discipline
- Teaching qualification or equivalent experience within Higher Education
- Fellow of Advance HE (or working towards Senior Fellowship)
- A record of internationally recognised research, research leadership and wider contribution within your discipline, which must include the area of 'Sustainability' and be suitable for the Law Unit of Assessment in Research Excellence Framework (REF29)
- Experience delivering high-quality teaching within Higher Education
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, quality enhancement and academic standards
- An up-to-date CV
- A Cover Letter outlining suitability for the role (Up to 2 pages)
- A Word document detailing your 5-year research plan (Up to 2 pages)
