Application Architect
Onsite in Bracknell
Eligible for DV clearance
£65-70K per annum + benefits package

We are recruiting an Application Architect to support the ongoing evolution of a Gateway solution for a strategic UK defence customer. Working alongside senior solution leaders, you'll contribute to secure design, controlled change, and operational resilience within a mission critical environment. This is a development opportunity for an aspiring architect looking to build design authority and architectural experience in a high assurance setting.

The Role

You will:

Contribute to infrastructure and Gateway design changes to maintain availability and performance

Produce structured design documentation alongside the customer and Programme Manager

Support architectural governance and ensure alignment to solution intent

Provide technical oversight during incident troubleshooting with SOC and 3rd Line teams

Assist in maintaining secure, resilient and scalable infrastructure components

Your technical experience;

You should have a design and development background with exposure to secure or Gateway-based environments, including:

Core Infrastructure

• VMware / vSphere
• RHEL & Windows Server
• Trellix
• SIEM

Microsoft Services

• Active Directory
• DNS
• RDS

Networking

• Citrix NetScaler
• Wireshark

Storage & Data

• NAS
• Backup solutions

Security & Web

• Gateway appliances and associated software
• PKI management applications
• Web applications and protocols

Key Attributes

Self motivated and comfortable operating with guidance from senior architects

Able to produce clear, structured design documentation

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across engineering and operational teams

Willing to travel weekly within the South / Southwest region
