An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team here at Grateley Primary School. Grateley Primary School is a small, friendly village school with a real family feel. We are a supportive, kind, and hardworking team.

We are looking for a dedicated Admin Assistant to support the Head Teacher and School Business Manager from 1st September 2026. Your role will be vital in assisting with the smooth running of the school, including general daily administration, attendance tasks, and being the first point of contact for families and visitors. Working alongside the School Business Manager and the Head Teacher, you will help maintain our strong attendance culture and manage new admissions. Above all, we seek a team member with a positive approach, attitude, and a strong aptitude for admin work.

Hours: 8:30am - 1pm, five days a week, term time plus INSET days only.

Key Responsibilities

Be the first point of contact for the school and consistently promote our values to all visitors. Support the head teacher and school business manager with daily administration, attendance, safeguarding and new admissions tasks. Maintain thoughtful communication with staff, parents and visitors. Reinforce the school's attendance culture.

Qualifications and Attributes
  • Commitment to the well being and safeguarding of children.
  • Experience working in a busy admin environment.
  • Friendly, professional and discreet, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Conscientious; ensuring tasks finished to a high standard.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written - with adults and children.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing needs of the school day.
  • Efficient with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing administrative tasks methodically and accurately.
  • Effective communicator who can build positive relationships with colleagues, parents and children.
  • Willing to undertake first aid responsibility (training provided).
  • Confident in using or keen to learn various school based IT systems (Scopay, CPOMS, Arbor).
