Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to support our finance team in managing day-to-day accounting tasks. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in finance and accounting, with opportunities to grow and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of bookkeeping and financial administration.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims

Reconcile bank statements and company credit cards

Support month-end and year-end close processes
-
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
-
Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings
-
Respond to internal and external queries in a timely manner
-
Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and reporting
-
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations
Requirements:

Proven experience in an accounts or finance-related role (preferred but not essential)

Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
-
Good understanding of basic accounting principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
AAT qualification (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential
