Account Manager (Social Housing)

This role is remote with travel to customer and branches around the South East.

Responsible for the ongoing strategic management of assigned Managed Services accounts, ensuring consistent and proactive engagement to foster long-term partnerships. This includes cultivating strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the customer organization, with the goal of becoming a trusted advisor and strategic partner.

Accountable for delivering profitable growth by identifying opportunities to demonstrate the value and efficiency of services offered, aligning solutions with customer needs and business objectives. Drive retention of existing clients through excellence in service delivery and relationship management, while also identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities within current accounts and adjacent markets.

Work collaboratively across internal teams, including sales, delivery, and product management, to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded, and that services continually evolve to meet changing business needs. Monitor account health, customer satisfaction, and performance metrics to ensure customer success and sustained revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop key internal and customer relationships at a strategic/decision-making level, such as CEO/MD, to influence ongoing development and retention of the contract through delivery of an annual strategic plan.
  2. Identify sales opportunities across the TP Group and Managed Services sectors with the customer, particularly in subcontractor, planned, void, and new build works, engaging with internal stakeholders to realize these opportunities, including initiatives like the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) and Awaab's Law.
  3. Propose and manage the execution of margin-enhancing opportunities such as effective price and product reviews, maintaining records of all proposals offered to customers, whether accepted or not.
  4. Act as the key contact for the customer, attend review meetings as required, respond to all requests, and resolve issues with support from the BDE, central functions, and operational teams.
  5. Ensure Travis Perkins meets all contractual obligations during the contract's lifetime. Conduct annual reviews with the customer to reinforce the added value and benefits of partnering with TPMS, aiming to increase contract extension/retention at re-tender.
  6. Lead the re-tender process with external and internal stakeholders to ensure retention of all managed contracts, owning accountability for all Permission To Proceed tenders and direct awards, and confidently presenting the Contract Workbook contents for final sign-off.
  7. Lead quarterly strategic meetings with the customer, reviewing contract performance and high-level initiatives such as IT integration, TPGO Suite, van stock management, and social value projects, promoting continuous improvement and recording actions and resolutions.
  8. Promote and support CSR initiatives and social value projects in partnership with customers.
  9. Keep all customer information up to date on the CRM system.
