- THE ROLE -

As a key member of the School/Faculty Team, the post holder will support Academic Excellence in its broadest sense, as directed by the pressures/demands of the schools and faculties, at varying periods throughout the academic year/REF/TEF cycle. They will provide a comprehensive and professional support service to the Faculty/School leadership teams and will be involved in undertaking project work, analysis and research under three broad headings: Research, Teaching and Placement Support. However, while the main focus may be on one of these work streams, the focus may change according to the stage in the academic cycle, e.g. REF/TEF preparation.

- ABOUT YOU -

  • A good standard of numeracy and literacy as demonstrated by qualification (including GCSE grade 'C' or above or equivalent in English and Mathematics).
  • Experience of supporting at least one of the following areas within a higher education (or similar) context: quality assurance; academic audits; inspection by accrediting bodies; pursuit of excellence in teaching; research activity.
  • Experience of organising events and making travel and related arrangements and of servicing meetings in a business/work environment, including taking notes and making a personal contribution to the work/actions arising from committees/meetings.
  • Experience of extraction and input of data within management information systems/databases as well as drafting routine correspondence, papers, reports and spreadsheets and preparation and formatting of documents across different desktop and IT office applications.
