Join our 'Award-Winning' Community As a Youth Mentor in Weston-super-Mare, you'll work directly with young people facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN), b y delivering unique blend of intervention, through both sport and academic support, you can help re-engage students with their education and learning. Whether you've worked in youth support before or are simply someone with empathy and drive, ready to venture into something new and rewarding - you'll be welcomed, trained, and empowered to grow in a role that truly changes lives. - Mentor 1:1 or in Small GroupsSupport young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and SEN (Special Educational Needs) through their daily journeys, meeting their personal and emotional needs.
- Encourage Expression Through CreativityUse art, music, sport, or your own specific skills to help students engage with their school work and connect to their peers.
- Support Emotional RegulationHelp young people develop their coping skills, offer calm guidance, and help students build resilience.
- Promote Positive BehaviourUse trauma-informed approaches and Team Teach techniques to reinforce boundaries in a compassionate way.
- Collaborate with Educators & FamiliesWork closely with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral teams to provide tailored support for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and SEN (Special Educational Needs).
- Fully Funded TrainingIncluding Team Teach Certification
- Competitive PayEarn £109.50 - £130 per day, depending on your placement
- Mileage CoveredReceive £0.45 per mile for community-based, outreach travel
- Permanent Opportunities AvailableTransition into contracted school roles with earning potential up to £32,000 per year
