Year 6 Teaching Assistant

Overview

Full-Time Year 6 Teaching Assistant. Start date: 20th April 2026. Location: Rochdale, OL11. Hourly rate: £90 - £100.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Year 6 team. This role involves supporting students during their final year of primary school, particularly in the lead-up to SATs.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the class teacher to provide support across core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
• Assist with targeted support for individual students and small groups to ensure they are well-prepared for SATs.
• Help create a positive classroom environment, foster engagement and good behaviour, and monitor student progress.
• Provide feedback to the teacher to inform tailored learning plans.
• Support administrative tasks related to SATs preparation and assessment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience working with Key Stage 2 students, ideally within a Year 6 setting.
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, especially in SATs preparation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
• Proactive attitude and a genuine passion for helping children succeed and reach their full potential.
