The Role - Year 2 Primary ECT
• Position: Year 2 Primary ECT
• Start Date: September 2025
• Contract: Full-time, permanent
• Location: Camden, London
• Salary: M1 (Inner London - £38,766)

Year 2 Curriculum & Expectations
As a Year 2 teacher, you will play a pivotal role in the final year of Key Stage 1, supporting pupils as they consolidate foundational skills and prepare for national assessments. You will:
• Deliver the full breadth of the KS1 curriculum, including English, maths, science, and foundation subjects
• Support children to become fluent, confident readers-building on phonics, developing comprehension, and encouraging a love of stories, poetry, and non-fiction
• Guide pupils in writing for a range of purposes, teaching spelling patterns, grammar, punctuation, and handwriting, and helping them plan and edit their work
• Foster strong mathematical understanding, ensuring children master number bonds to 20, place value, written and mental calculations, and multiplication/division facts for the 2-, 5-, and 10-times tables
• Prepare pupils for the end-of-Key Stage 1 national tests in reading, maths, and spelling, punctuation, and grammar, as well as teacher assessments in writing and science
• Encourage scientific enquiry, observation, and recording skills as children explore living things, materials, and the world around them
• Set high expectations for learning and behaviour, nurturing independence, curiosity, and resilience

What We're Looking For
• A committed ECT (Early Career Teacher) with QTS and a passion for KS1
• Deep understanding of Year 2 curriculum requirements and assessment expectations
• Ability to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that support all learners
• Desire to contribute to the school's faith ethos and wider community
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
