Yard Supervisor

Great opportunity to work as a Yard Supervisor for our client based in Portbury.

The rate of pay is £15.03 per hour.

Overtime is available and is paid at time and a half after 8 hours a day, Saturdays x1.5 and Sundays x2.0. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday and the hours of work are: 7am to 3:30pm. Applicants must have held a Driving Licence for a minimum of 2 years. Your time at work as a Yard Supervisor your duties include:

Directing and coordinating the Yard Team to ensure day-to-day work is completed efficiently and on time.

Managing the storage of vehicles in line with the customer's quality requirements and to maximise land usage.

Managing and communicating ship's discharge.

Maintaining effective communication at all times.

Being responsible for accident and damage investigations and onward reporting.

Assisting in managing suppliers, their staff and performance.

Assisting in maintaining and developing resources, whether this is labour, buildings or IT equipment.

Being active and responsible for HR issues e.g., disciplines, training, staff development, and recruitment.

We require an individual who has a proactive attitude and wants to work with and develop the existing structure so that it remains progressive in its approach.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills and be a competent user of Microsoft Office programmes.

Knowledge of bespoke automotive IT systems will be an advantage.

An eye to the future and a keenness to grow and develop the current structure whilst working in a team are essential elements to the position.

Supervisor experience is required.
