A Yard Person / Site Engineer is required to join a Ground Investigation contractor to work on a permanent role in Manchester. You will be combining yard management with site engineering and monitoring duties to support the companies operations in Manchester.

Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining a safe, tidy yard and stores, including equipment, consumables, and samples
• Preparing, loading, transporting, and returning site equipment and materials
• Receiving, logging, storing, segregating, and disposing of soil and rock samples
• Providing site engineering support, including in-situ testing (e.g. soakaway, permeability, DCP)
• Undertaking gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling
• Carrying out site walkovers to support Phase 1 Desk Studies
• Assisting with stock control, compliance, and mentoring junior staff

Requirements:

• Full UK manual driving licence
• CSCS card
• Willing to work between yard, office, sites, and laboratories
• Strong organisation, communication, and health & safety awareness
• Ideally (not necessarily) a degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
