Yard Operative - Duncrue, Belfast

Location: Belfast, Duncrue
Hours: Mon- Fri 7:30am - 4:30pm Full-Time Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy and fast paced waste and recycling operation based in Duncrue, Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with forklift and reach truck experience looking to join a growing company with long term career opportunities.

The successful candidate will support daily yard operations, safely handling and moving materials while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping across site.

Key Duties

• Loading, unloading, and moving materials across the yard
• Operating forklift trucks and reach trucks safely
• Supporting waste segregation and storage activities
• Assisting with chemical and hazardous waste handling procedures
• Carrying out daily equipment and vehicle safety checks
• Maintaining clean, safe, and organised working areas
• Reporting hazards, defects, spills, and unsafe conditions
• Supporting operational teams with general yard duties

Essential Requirements

• Valid Forklift Truck Licence
• Reach Truck Licence (6m boom or above)
• Previous experience in a yard, industrial, warehouse, or waste environment
• Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Comfortable working around chemicals and hazardous materials

Desirable

• Experience within waste, recycling, or industrial sectors
• Additional plant or machinery licences
• Health & Safety qualifications/training
