We develop content strategies with a focus on ensuring digital journeys are user-focused and optimising our website to make it accessible and easy to navigate. This involves training and supporting colleagues and content owners across the charity to create engaging and personalised omnichannel content that meets our audience's needs and strategic objectives.As a Content Strategy Partner, you will play a crucial role in developing Cancer Research UK's digital content design and strategy. You will be assigned to partner with an assigned to act as a strategic bridge between teams across Cancer Research UK and the Content Excellence Function, ensuring that content is purposeful, user-centred, and supports the charity's mission. You will also contribute to a programme of engagement and training to build content capabilities and help develop teams to be sustainably set up for long-term success.By the end of this contract, your legacy will be to have contributed your expertise in shaping Cancer Research UK's digital content to better meet both user and business needs as part of the largest transformation programme in the history of the UK charity sector. Longer-term, your impact will be felt through the audiences we reach and the content standards and planning frameworks you help establish to ensure our content remains impactful, relevant, and consistent across all channels and audiences.If you've designed and implemented structured content strategies in collaboration with cross-functional digital teams and stakeholders in a large organisation, we'd love for you to join our mission.Content design and strategy: Ensuring content is prioritised in line with Cancer Research UK's strategic aims. Using evidence and insight to guide content decisions. Setting and embedding evaluation and measurement as a content principle. Articulating audience and business needs, ensuring content is prioritised according to these needs and our broader strategy. Contributing to the development and implementation of Cancer Research UK's content strategy, maintaining content standards and supporting content creators across the organisation. Supporting the development of the organisation's personalisation and omnichannel strategies, ensuring tailored audience experiences across all channels and touchpoints.Stakeholder engagement: Acting as the bridge between the Content Excellence Function and an assigned directorate to develop content strategies aligned with audience and directorate needs. Building and managing the relationship between the wider organisation and the new Content Excellence Function by acting as a content design expert, helping stakeholders understand how content can support their objectives and breaking down silhos. Integrating yourself as a partner within the relevant directorate to understand their objectives and their audiences. Championing content services and best practices.Content governance and planning: Leading the prioritisation and planning of content within your directorate, communicating decision-making with content excellence colleagues. Ensuring content is consistent, accessible, and aligned with user needs and organisational standards. Supporting the development and implementation of content governance frameworks.User-Centred Content: Championing and advocating the value of audience-led and evidence-based decision making. Promoting the use of user research, testing, and data to inform content decisions. Educating teams and content editors on the principles of focusing on user needs, job stories, and content design. Collaborating with colleagues in SEO, UX, and taxonomy to ensure content strategy is aligned with broader digital and user experience goals.Training and capability building: Identifying training needs, coaching and upskilling of colleagues across Cancer Research UK in the tools and techniques of content design and digital accessibility. Equipping teams with the tools and techniques to create effective, engaging, and user-focused content. Fostering a culture of content excellence across Cancer Research UK that focuses on user needs. Content Design expert with demonstrable knowledge of website content strategy, UX writing, SEO, taxonomy, accessibility, and inclusive design. Successfully developed and implemented content strategies and change in a large, complex organisation with a focus on quality, consistency, personalisation, and user experience. Has built credible and collaborative cross-functional stakeholder and content owner relationships with strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, and coaching skills. Strategic and user-focused mindset with experience translating content strategies and data-driven user insights into omnichannel delivery, personalisation, and decision-making. Solutions-driven and continuous improvement mindset with experience implementing and applying structured approaches to content creation and management, best practices, governance standards, and workflow design. Strong organisational and planning skills with a proven ability to deliver multiple projects, apply Agile methodologies, and manage competing priorities within cross-functional digital teams simultaneously. Demonstrable understanding of end-to-end supporter journeys and how the website experience performs a key role in Cancer Research UK's user experience. Familiar with content technologies such as headless CMS (preferably Contentful), asset management tools, and content analytics
