Job Description
IMMEDIATE START
Based in Trostre.
_ 8am - 4pm - Monday to Thursday _
_ 8am -3.30pm Friday _
£16.00 per hour
HGV Technician responsible for carrying out servicing, inspections, repairing, diagnosing & maintaining Council fleet vehicles, including the hydraulics & electrical equipment for specialised vehicle bodies.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in light or heavy motor vehicle engineering.
Driving Licence - Minimum Category B
Responsibilities
Interpret and follow technical schematics and diagrams to assemble, repair, and maintain equipment.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly, disassembly, and maintenance tasks.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Perform equipment repairs, including welding and heavy lifting, to restore functionality.
Assist with the installation of new equipment and modifications as required.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs carried out.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing technical queries and offering solutions where applicable.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all workshop activities.
Support team members with complex tasks requiring mechanical knowledge and specialised skills.
