Job Title: Workshop / Fabrication Supervisor
Location: Reading
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (Permanent or Subcontractor)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm
Arcforce Engineering Services are looking for an experienced Workshop / Fabrication Supervisor to lead operations in our busy pipework fabrication workshop. You'll oversee daily production, manage a small team, and ensure high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role - ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and a proactive, organised approach.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise day-to-day fabrication of prefabricated pipework.
- Interpret drawings, create cutting lists, and track project progress.
- Manage workshop staff and subcontractors, ensuring high standards and deadlines are met.
- Maintain weld logs, material certification, and ISO9000 documentation.
- Oversee quality checks - ensuring welds and assemblies meet required tolerances.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and internal teams to update progress and resolve issues.
- Ensure all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are current and signed.
- Manage materials, stock levels, and logistics for incoming and outgoing deliveries.
- Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes and safety culture.
- Recommend new tools, plant, or methods to enhance performance and productivity.
- Strong background in pipework fabrication and welding processes.
- Proven supervisory or team leader experience in a workshop environment.
- Excellent understanding of ISO drawings, welding standards, and quality control.
- Knowledge of ISO9000, NCR processes, and H&S compliance.
- Confident communicator - able to liaise with site teams, management, and clients.
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with material ordering, stock management, and scheduling.
- A practical, proactive leader who takes pride in delivering top-quality work.
- Technical: Fabrication, welding, QA/QC, drawing interpretation, and mechanical assembly.
- Leadership: Team supervision, training, and resource management.
- Operational: Production planning, cost control, and workshop coordination.
- Communication: Clear reporting, client liaison, and team collaboration.
