Salary: £47,000 - £57,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Based in Leatherhead Surrey, with site visits mainly across London and the Home Counties and up to the Midlands

We are now looking for an experienced Works Delivery Manager (Rail) to join our team. This is a varied role, combining office-based planning with site visits, and offers the chance to take ownership of projects while helping shape the future of the company.

Responsibilities

  • This is an office and site-based role - we work closely together as a team, so regular presence in the office is essential.
  • Standard hours are 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday with optional overtime available.
  • Plan & manage projects valued from £5,000 - £100,000, from initial site walk out and scoping to paperwork through to delivery and handback documents.
  • Chair internal planning meetings, liaise with subcontractors, and attend client progress meetings.
  • Prepare and issue RAMS, task briefings, site folders and handback documents.
  • Prepare work package scopes as required and ensure appropriate protection levels are in place for each location and type of work.
  • Monitor progress, deal with arising issues, and inspect works for quality and sign-off at key stages.
  • Maintain accurate project records and keep Directors/clients updated on progress.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement of materials.
  • Oversee budgets and track project costs (payments managed by accounts team).
  • Carry out site inspections, briefings, and support site supervision.
  • Ensure full compliance with Network Rail and industry safety standards.
  • Provide feedback and performance reports on operatives and subcontractors.
  • Complete and file shift reports.
  • Problem-solve to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget.
  • Report to and support the Directors, acting as a sounding board for operational planning and business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the company's work bank by building on existing client relationships and spotting new opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • Enthusiastic team player with solid industry/rail knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years' proven experience in rail or construction project delivery (essential).
  • Strong understanding of Network Rail standards, safety processes and RAMS.
  • Confident using MS Word, Excel and similar tools for documentation and planning.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • PTS or other rail safety accreditations (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • A proactive approach to spotting opportunities for repeat business and supporting the company's growth
