Opportunity

Sunderland AFC Women are looking to appoint a Goalkeeper Coach & Set Piece Specialist to join the Women's First Team technical staff. This role involves leading goalkeeper development and performance while taking ownership of the team's attacking and defensive set piece strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver goalkeeper specific training aligned to the club's game model, team principles, and individual player development plans.
  • Lead the planning, delivery and review of the first team set piece strategy, ensuring clear frameworks, roles, and execution across training and matchday.
  • Collaborate across the integrated technical, performance, medical and analysis environment.
  • Support player and team development using video, data and performance insight.
  • Travel as required and work non traditional hours in line with the team schedule.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communicator and educator with strong technical and tactical knowledge of goalkeeper development and set piece execution in an elite football environment.
  • Minimum FA or UEFA Goalkeeping Coach licence; ALicence desirable.
  • FA Safeguarding qualification.
  • At least three seasons' experience within elite football with a proven track record of supporting goalkeepers from youth to senior level.
  • Experience designing and delivering set piece strategies at professional or elite level, with a strong understanding of goalkeeper involvement in build up play, defensive structures and transition moments.
  • Experience within women's football desirable; confidence using data and video analysis platforms (StatsBomb, Hudl, Sportscode, Wyscout or XPS).
  • Strong collaborative skills across departments and comfortable with video, data and performance insight.
  • Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS through SAFCW.
