About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Printer to operate an 8-colour wide web press, producing work to the highest print standards and ensuring smooth, efficient production.
Key Responsibilities- Operate an 8-colour wide web printing press to agreed specifications and quality standards.
- Lead and support print helpers/assistants.
- Maintain cleanliness and carry out daily and weekly maintenance on the press and surrounding areas.
- Meet individual, team and shift productivity targets.
- Complete job set-ups efficiently while minimising ink and material usage.
- Train print helpers in press set-up, colour management and print processes.
- Follow all job set-up procedures accurately.
- Adjust and record ink formulations.
- Check and confirm colours using colour-management systems.
- Liaise with the pre-press team to minimise downtime (plate mounting, ink and material delivery, etc.).
- Carry out continuous quality checks and maintain print standards in line with ISO procedures.
- Make necessary adjustments during running to maintain safety, quality and productivity.
- Record full and accurate information on Company Specification sheets for repeatability.
- Communicate clearly with team members and give/receive instructions effectively.
- Work with the Production Manager to improve quality, processes and production efficiency.
- Keep the work area organised and report potential maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure helpers do the same.
- Experience within a multi-shift operation and the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
- Preferably experienced in running a modern 8-colour flexographic press.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions clearly.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the role.
