We re looking for a compassionate, proactive and thoughtful Wellbeing Lead to help embed a culture of care and connection across Samaritans - for our staff, our volunteers, and everyone who plays a part in our mission.
About the Contract
- Initially a 12month fixed term contract
- Salary £33,000 - £37,000 per annum
- Full time (35 hours per week)
- We are passionate about flexible working, talk to us about your preferences.
- Hybrid working: Linked to our Ewell (Surrey) office.
- In-person working: Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. Staff are expected to work in person around 2 days per month.
About the Role
As our Wellbeing Lead, you ll play a key role in ensuring wellbeing is not just something we talk about but becomes something we live and breathe across the organisation.
In your work you'll:
- Design and lead a cross organisational wellbeing strategy that reflects the voices and needs of our people.
- Deliver inclusive initiatives that build resilience, support mental health and encourage connection.
- Use data and insight to evaluate what s working and make it even better.
- Collaborate with leaders, volunteers and partners to make wellbeing an integrated part of our culture.
- Coordinate campaigns, awareness weeks and peer support offers that align with Samaritans' values and calendar.
- Act as the central point of expertise, supporting others to confidently embed wellbeing into daily working life.
You ll champion a culture where people feel safe, seen and supported, because we know that wellbeing is fundamental to everything we do.

About You
You re someone who genuinely cares and knows how to translate that care into meaningful action.
You'll bring:
- Experience developing and delivering wellbeing strategies, ideally in complex or multi-stakeholder settings.
- A strong understanding of wellbeing issues such as mental health, stress, and psychological safety.
- The confidence to use insight and data to shape solutions and influence others.
- An inclusive approach, with a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and embedding lived experience in your work.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to build trust at every level.
- Experience working with both employees and volunteers or in a charity/mission-led organisation would be beneficial.
