About the role

Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Amarna House Care Home, Acomb, York. The role supports the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities designed to promote the physical, cognitive and social well being of residents.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe living and working environment and contribute to a positive, professional image of the home.
  • Report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
  • Order and prepare supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
  • Establish links with the local community (schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.
Qualifications and experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of how interaction contributes to the general well being of people.
  • Positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
  • Pre existing experience working with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting.
Requirements
  • Appointment subject to ADBS Disclosure check (cost paid by Avery Healthcare).
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Submission for Disclosure and Barring Service check.
