At Avery Healthcare we support the people who care for our residents and celebrate their hard work. Join our award winning team as a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Astbury Manor Care Home in Berkshire. You will work with the Wellbeing Coordinator to create a wide range of activities that engage and stimulate the residents' physical, cognitive and social well being.

Main duties

• Maintain a safe and professional environment for residents and staff.
• Report any changes in a resident's physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
• Order, prepare and manage supplies for upcoming activities.
• Forge links with the local community (schools, groups, museums, libraries) to encourage access to broader opportunities and promote intergenerational activity.

About You

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of the role of interaction in the general well being of people.
• Positive attitude toward older adults and commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
• Previous experience working with older people in a residential nursing/dementia setting.

Required

• ADBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
