Job Title: Weekend Young Persons Support Worker

Job Ref: YPSW9

Hours: 36 hours per week. 12-hour days. 7am-7pm. Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Holidays: 17 days (inc. bank holidays) per annum

Term: Permanent

Limitless offer a different approach when supporting young people in the home. Our homes are developed and set up in a way that represents family living; there are routines, boundaries and rules to follow however, the staff team are recruited to their ability and skills to be compassionate, supportive, nurturing and fair.

Mealtimes are representative of those within a family home, the team and young people are encouraged to eat together where ever possible; social events include everyone and are planned by the young people; Birthdays and religious events are celebrated and young people are encouraged to socialise with friends and family in the home where this has been agreed and deemed appropriate by social care.

As a young person's Support Worker, you will be expected to carry out the following tasks (this list is not exhaustive):

Inspire young people to achieve their aspirations
Provide young people a guiding hand and support to enable them to live independently
Encourage and promote self-advocacy and/or advocate on behalf of the young person
Carry out the role of 'support worker' for individual young people including associated tasks and completion of regular reports and review of relevant plans and assessments.
Engage in the day to day running of the home including planning and participating in activities, provision of meals and all engagement required by the young people.
Assist in the development, implementation and review of individual support plans, risk assessments and daily case note records
Organise and take part in outings and in-house activities
Ensure thoroughly planned and consistent support packages are provided, working in partnership with others to ensure a consistent and planned approach is taken
Assist in the maintenance and security of the building, including fire prevention
General Housekeeping duties
Develop and maintain close links with the local community, voluntary organisations, voluntary helpers, police, social care, CAMHS and any other relevant professionals
Visit young people in their own homes, providing a floating support service.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

Understanding of the challenges and experiences of children and young people who have been involved with social care

Demonstrate the ability to be compassionate, supportive, nurturing and fair
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Confident manner
Highly motivated, with enthusiasm and determination
Good computer and administration skills
Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines under pressure
Ability to use own initiative, but also work well as part of a small team
Own transport and business insurance due to travelling required during office hours
Committed to the company and young people; we are a unique team who all value one another and the young people we work with. The highest standards are expected at all times.
Qualified to NVQ level 3 standard, preferably in Child and Adult Workforce
Have the confidence and ability to lone work in our young peoples homes

Desirable Two years' experience of working in a similar role

Knowledge of Looked After Children and Leaving Care standards and requirements
Working knowledge of The Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023

You will require an Enhanced DBS check which the company will arrange.

You will be over 21 years of age and have the use of own car with business insurance.
