Warehouse Team Leader - Stock Control

Warehouse Team Leader your role includes a lot of variety, supporting the different departments in the warehouse. Working closely with the wider Warehouse Management Team, you directly support both permanent and agency Warehouse Operatives, ensuring they have sufficient training and support to perform to the expected standards whilst always maintaining awareness of health and safety and safe operating procedures. Usually allocated to an area of the warehouse, you will guide the day to day operations of your given area, ensuring any problems are troubleshooted and escalated as necessary.
Key Responsibilities Stock Control Specific- Rolling stock counts on free stock
- Conduct Stock on Hold checks on picked stock
- Investigate products that entered suspense to locate lost and verify found stock
- Investigate discrepancies that have arisen from customer disputes
- Conduct stock adjustments within JDA to ensure stock accuracy
- Process returns, back into stocks, and fake bit
- Assist internal departments with enquiries about stock via email
- Deal with picker issues with stock including damages, wrong stock & lost stock etc
- Taking images for the Sales Team of stock and pallets
- Checking expiry dates & batch codes of stock
- PO recounts for stock following Inbound process discrepancies
- Oversee day to day operations in your allocated area - providing cover to others as and when needed.
- Ensuring work efficiencies and priorities are being met. Escalating to the relevant Supervisor/Manager where support is required.
- Supporting the Warehouse Management Team in providing feedback on the Warehouse Operatives performance and conduct.
- Monitoring performance and feeding back to the Warehouse Operatives where improvements need to take place.
- Onboarding and organising training new agency staff as needed, ensuring completion of the agency induction plan and their understanding of the Warehouse Operations Manual.
- Carrying out warehouse or company training / refresher training with employees as and when required.
- Maintaining health and safety at all times, ensuring operations are running to the required safety standards, and any accidents are documented and escalated as per standard procedure.
- Acting as a role model; following company policies and procedures at all times.
- Escalating any risks/ hazards or other employee/ individual concerns as necessary.
- Completing Health & Safety Incident Investigations where necessary.
- Holding Return to Work interviews for Warehouse Operatives following employees' period of absence from work.
- Trained First Aider.
- Trained Fire Marshall.
- Locking and unlocking the site.
- Trained to carry out drug and alcohol testing.
