Job Description

The Company

Founded in 2010, Candle Shack Limited has become a leading B2B supplier of premium candle-making materials, delivering to the EU and the UK from our warehouses in The Netherlands and Scotland. With ambition to increase our growth rate year on year over the next 5 years, we require to recruit an experienced team leader for our warehouse in Echt in The Netherlands within our subsidiary, Candle Shack BV. Candle Shack BV operates within the sector collective labour agreement.


The Role - Based in Echt, The Netherlands - Salary Range €2,800 - €3,300 per month gross

As the Warehouse Team Leader, you will play a critical role in directing and engaging warehouse operators to achieve productivity goals by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of multiple warehouse functions. You will coach and lead cross functional teams to balance resources through effective workload management ensuring operational targets, KPI's and quality standards are met in order to meet customer requirements. This position requires collaboration across UK and EU sites to drive continuous improvement, process optimisation and best practice. Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations:

  • Supervise and coordinate cross functional warehouse teams and workflows to ensure customers' orders are fulfilled.
  • Manage daily work plans and prioritize work allocation for the team to ensure optimal workflow, productivity and people utilization.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain quality control and accuracy of inventory.
  • Conduct daily shift governance meetings.
  • Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layout, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, cost, and safety efficiencies.
  • Identify development and cross-training needs ensuring warehouse teams are deployed cross functionally based on customer demand.
  • Oversee inventory management and conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement efficient warehouse practices to enhance productivity and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments and maintain a clean, 5S organized warehouse environment.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as Supply Chain, Customer Services, Finance, Quality, R&D and Marketing.
  • Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance, including productivity metrics, inventory levels and order fulfillment rates.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities including accurate documentation of operational process, SOPs and work instructions for inclusion to QMS.


People Management:

  • Successful delegation and empowerment of colleagues to take accountability, creating and cultivating that "one team" approach.
  • Assist with hiring and training employees.
  • Assess team performance and provide feedback to employees including annual goal setting and performance management.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the team and address performance concerns through coaching and mentoring.


This role will require the Team Leader to work proactively across multiple areas: Pick, Pack, Fragrance, Goods In/Out, Custom Operations, Stock Transformation.
