Job Description
Warehouse Returns Administrator

Wellingborough
£28,000 per annum
8:00am-4:00pm
Office-based

Are you ridiculously organised, naturally curious when something doesn't add up, and the sort of person who needs every box, number and system entry to match?

We're looking for a Warehouse Returns Administrator to take ownership of returned stock and make sure everything is inspected, recorded and dealt with properly.

Let's be honest: returns are rarely the glamorous end of logistics. Products arrive damaged, paperwork goes missing, quantities don't match and occasionally nobody seems to know why something has been sent back.

That's where you come in.

You'll investigate what has happened, update the warehouse system, coordinate with the relevant teams and make sure every returned product ends up in the right place-whether that means restocking, repair, quarantine, returning it to the supplier or writing it off.

What you'll be doing

  • Processing customer and supplier returns accurately and efficiently

  • Inspecting returned products for damage, faults and discrepancies

  • Recording return details on the WMS or ERP system

  • Identifying whether stock should be restocked, repaired, quarantined, scrapped or returned to the supplier

  • Making sure all paperwork and return documentation is complete

  • Liaising with customer service, suppliers, stock-control and warehouse teams

  • Updating stock levels and helping maintain accurate inventory records

  • Supporting cycle counts within the returns and quarantine areas

  • Producing weekly and monthly reports

  • Identifying recurring issues and supporting root-cause investigations

  • Keeping the returns area clean, safe and organised

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have previous experience within warehouse administration, logistics, stock control or inventory.

You'll also need:

  • Excellent attention to detail-"near enough" won't cut it here

  • Confidence using a WMS, ERP or similar stock-management system

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities

  • A methodical, process-driven approach

  • A proactive attitude and the confidence to question anything that doesn't look right

Experience dealing with RMAs, RTVs, warranty claims, stock discrepancies or inventory control would be a definite advantage. Confidence using Excel and producing reports would also be useful.

The honest bit

This is a fully office-based position within a busy warehouse environment. It would suit someone who enjoys investigating problems, keeping accurate records and bringing order to situations that can occasionally be a little chaotic.

It probably won't suit someone who leaves paperwork until tomorrow, assumes the system will magically fix itself or considers stock discrepancies to be somebody else's problem.

Your work will have a genuine impact on stock accuracy, customer service and the wider warehouse operation.
