Ward Sister/Charge Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to lead and support our nursing team in delivering exceptional patient care. This pivotal role will ensure high standards of clinical practice, provide leadership and guidance to staff, and maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and their families.
Main duties of the jobAs a key member of the ward leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating daily operations, managing resources effectively, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Job responsibilitiesContract: Permanent; 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: A combination of day and night shifts are scheduled from 7:00 to 19:30 or 19:00 to 7:30, Monday through Sunday, including bank holidays.
Location: Inpatient Unit, West Midlands Hospice, Solihull
Salary: Band 6 (Marie Curie/AFC), £38,682 - £46,580 per year, plus applicable enhancements
What we are looking for- Registered Nurse qualification with current NMC registration.
- Proven experience in a senior nursing role, ideally within an acute or specialist setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Excellent clinical knowledge and commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and compliance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
