Role: Warehouse Assistants
Location: Distribution Centre, Lubeck Road, PE30 2JE
Volunteer Lead: Warehouse Manager
Hours: 2-3 hours a week
Purpose of Role & ServiceOur outstanding care services cost a staggering £5.7m to provide each year and this year alone we will need to raise £4.1 million to provide the care patients truly deserve. Our retail income makes a huge contribution to the funding of the Hospice's services. You will be making a difference by helping us raise vital funds for Tapping House and help reduce our waste.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for people to help us with the following tasks so that we can expand our recycling programme, increase the income to Tapping House and create a healthier planet. You might like to do one or more of these tasks and any combination. You'll get full training and you don't have to do everything!
- Sorting through books/games/DVDs
- Use our barcode scanner to scan them
- Box items up ready for collection
- Metal
- Removing plugs from items
- Sorting metals into specific types
- Pulling ring pulls of cans
- Sorting through mobile phones and tablets
- Look at donated mobile phones and tablets
- Run these devices through a computer programme to professionally erase and restore to factory settings
- Charge them up
- Take photos to prepare for eBay listing
