School Governor

Become a School Governor and help shape the future of our children's education.

We are looking for committed individuals to join our Governing Board and play a vital role in supporting our schools. As a Governor, you will work as part of a team to provide strategic leadership, ensure high standards, and champion the best possible outcomes for all students.

• Setting the school's strategic direction - helping to define priorities, vision and long-term goals.


• Monitoring educational performance - reviewing progress, asking constructive questions, and ensuring every student is supported.


• Overseeing financial decisions - ensuring resources are used effectively and responsibly.


• Supporting and challenging school leaders - working alongside the Headteacher and senior team to strengthen decision-making.


• Championing the school within the community - helping strengthen relationships with families, partners and local organisations.

• Professional development - build leadership, strategic thinking and governance skills valued across all sectors.


• Making a real impact - directly contributing to improving children's life chances.


• Working with dedicated professionals - collaborate with school leaders, staff and fellow governors who share a commitment to education.


• Strengthening your community - help shape a school that families are proud of.

If you are passionate about education, committed to positive change, and willing to contribute your time and insight, we would love to hear from you. This is a volunteer role involving roughly six meetings per year, alongside planned strategic school visits. Becoming a Governor is a rewarding way to use your skills, broaden your experience, and make a lasting difference.

All Governors will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. You must be 18+ to apply.
