Job Description

Life can change dramatically for a visually impaired veteran when hopping in the car and travelling from A to B is no longer possible. Something so simple - and something many of us don't think twice about - suddenly becomes a real barrier, affecting independence, confidence, and overall wellbeing.

That's where you come in. As a volunteer driver, you make an enormous difference by helping someone regain a little bit of that independence. Whether it's getting to a social event, an important appointment, a trip into the community or even a day out somewhere special, you'll be opening doors that might otherwise stay closed. This role will support veterans requiring transport to and from our social group in Bedford, approx every 6 weeks.

By giving your time, you'll be helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation, offering not just a lift, but reliable companionship and support. It's a role that truly enhances the lives of the veterans we support at Blind Veterans UK - and one that makes a positive impact on your own life too.
