Volunteer Driver

About The North Herts & Stevenage Community Transport Service

We help residents across North Herts and Stevenage solve transport problems by using a dedicated team of volunteers who use their own cars to transport passengers to healthcare appointments and other community activities. The volunteer driver role is flexible and you choose how many hours you want to give each week. Drivers receive a mileage rate of 45p per mile with a minimum payment of £5.

Volunteer Driver Responsibilities

• Transport residents to healthcare appointments, dental appointments, day centres and therapy classes.
• Use your own vehicle responsibly and safely.
• Provide a supportive and friendly service to residents.
• Adhere to the service's policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid driving licence and clean driving record.
• Own reliable vehicle suitable for transporting passengers.
• Good communication skills and willingness to offer assistance.
• Flexible availability to drive as required.
