Vineyard Intern - Freestone

Responsibilities

• Vine cluster counts to assist with crop estimation
• Fruit maturity sampling and processing during harvest
• Assist with vineyard pest scouting (insect, fungal, & virus)
• Perform data entry and help to maintain data collected in the vineyard or from Vineyard employees
• Assist Vineyard Team where needed
• Lab experience preferred

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and be motivated
• Must be able to endure rugged terrain with long outdoor exposure
• The ability to work under minimum supervision, maintain accurate data records, and show initiative
• A positive outlook and a sense of humor
• A valid driver's license, and clean DMV record
• ATV experience recommended, but not mandatory
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a major plus

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, pull 100 pounds at least 20 feet, stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders, stairs and catwalks, stoop, bend, lift overhead and kneel. You must be motivated to work hard, able to multi-task and to work long hours and weekends if needed. At least one harvest or previous cellar experience preferred, but not mandatory.

$26/hr plus overtime (when applicable)
