Job Description
Overview

We are recruiting a team of volunteers to help with our Summer programme this year. Enjoy a Victory summer, face to face with the treasures that tell the story of the most iconic leader in British history, Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson.

Between 4 July and 30 September, visitors will have the chance to see Nelson's personal collection of silver table settings, bequeathed by a grateful nation, and to witness and have a go at the 18th Century heritage craft skills that built a naval flagship like HMS Victory.

The programme will include two main elements:

  • Nelson's silver table setting in HMS Victory's Great Cabin every Wednesday during the summer holidays (22nd July - 26th August).
  • Heritage skills demonstrations and hands on activities led by the team of experts preserving HMS Victory (27th July - 31st July).
Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for volunteer Explainers and Demonstrators to join our staffing teams and help make this a fabulous Victory summer.

  • Present information about Nelson's silver table setting.
  • Conduct heritage skills demonstrations and guide visitors in hands on activities.
  • Assist visitors and support the overall visitor experience.

We welcome experience gained through volunteering, community involvement, education, hobbies, or other activities. Any volunteering related training or networks you are involved with are also valued.
