What is the role?As Vice President of Sales and Marketing will lead Aerogen's efforts to accelerate market performance across existing and emerging segments. You will be responsible for shaping global market strategy and driving new product launches and integrations. You will build and oversee a new market and business analytics function, focusing on strong product performance, market trends and competitor dynamics.
The VP of Sales & Marketing will partner closely with global sales, Medical Affairs, R&D and other functions to maximize Aerogen's commercial presence, expand into high-growth care settings, and evaluate new product and business opportunities. Success will be demonstrated through clear, strategic vision and the development of high performing teams.
As a key member of Aerogen's senior leadership, you will play a critical role in strengthening business performance, advancing talent development, and ensuring Aerogen continues to set the standard of care in aerosol drug delivery worldwide.
What are the key responsibilities?- Strategy Development, Communication & Execution: Lead the development, analysis, critical thinking and establishment of Aerogen's overall portfolio strategy including existing product/markets, new products and potential selective product/business acquisitions.
- Medical marketing evidence generation and market shaping: Promote Aerogen as scientific leaders through evidence generation and guideline development through systematic and outcome driven clinician/physician customer engagement with our medical affairs team enabling us to drive both market development and competitive differentiation for Aerogen.
- Increase Aerogen's brand awareness as scientific leaders in aerosol drug delivery across all segments from mechanical ventilation to homecare usage to be reflected in key global, regional and national guidelines and protocol.
- Business analytics: Develop market trend analysis and performance tracking including quantitative and qualitative market research tracking to regularly assess Aerogen's performance in key markets: market share evolution - total and by key segment, product perception and competitor profiling, new segment opportunity assessment, systematic competitive intelligence analysis, use of omnichannel data to establish impact analysis and causality to refine campaigns, marketing mix and channel usage including both macro global / regional activity down to local key account micro marketing approaches.
- New Product Launch and Selective Product and Business M&A: Lead commercial development and launch implementation for Aerogen's New Product Portfolio in close collaboration with R&D team including insight and market valuation support to enable business case development and prioritization of new product development opportunities.
- Assess potential product and business acquisition opportunities with clear recommendations for executive team and Board review.
- Communications: To ensure effective leadership of overall brand communications and work closely with Corporate Communications Team to ensure consistent leverage of Aerogen's unique brand values and reputation in both our direct customer and wider stakeholder communications and engagement.
- Leadership: To effectively lead high performing global teams ensuring effective strategic leadership and upstream campaign development alongside high-quality cost-effective execution at the global and regional level.
- Act as an Aerogen senior leader role modelling Aerogen's values - Ambition, Innovation, Teamwork, Integrity embodying our overall value of We Care.
- Significant experience in international sales and marketing of medical devices, including both distributor and self commercialized models with.
- Marketing strategy development and execution, including experience with digital marketing forms such as social media marketing and content marketing.
- Effective medical marketing collaboration including KOL engagement and evidence generation.
- Strong sales track record including leading teams - country / region.
- Strong track record for business analytics including product/business assessment and valuation.
- Track record of working effectively in / across regions including EU+USA.
- Strongly preferred - experience in respiratory / critical care therapeutic areas.
- Strongly preferred - experience in market access and reimbursement for medical devices.
- High level of drive and ambition consistently taking initiative to drive business performance, challenge the status quo, improving business processes and cross functional team performance.
- Strong leadership skills and track record for developing high performing teams delivering outstanding results.
- High developed written and verbal communication and influencing skills including internal and external stakeholders (customers/partners/suppliers). This includes the ability to analyze, critique and synthesize ideas and be able, and coach others, to adapt the nature, length and detail of communication according to the audience.
- High level of creativity and innovation matched with ability to focus and ensure structured execution.
- Demonstrable track record of displaying good judgement in terms of Business decisions, People and performance, Ethical business behaviour.
- Able to operate independently with high quality and with appropriate detail orientation.
- High level of financial and analytical capability enabling rapid assimilation of key data along with effective management of operational investment/expense.
- High level of IQ/EQ including self awareness and genuine desire to learn and develop.
- High quality bachelor's degree - MBA preferred.
- Role requires ability to travel extensively >35% to meet customers, business partners and key regional colleagues.
