My Client situated on the border of Somerset and Wiltshire is inviting applications from experienced veterinary professionals for the position of Lead Clinical Director. This role presents an opportunity to take overall responsibility for clinical standards across a large, multi site practice, while guiding a talented team of 24 vets and over 50 nurses. The individual appointed will also contribute to the ongoing development and strategic direction of a well established and progressive organisation.
Key Clinical FeaturesThe practice offers a collaborative and well supported environment with modern facilities, including a 24 hour RCVS accredited hospital. Clinical expertise spans orthopaedics, emergency and critical care, cardiology, exotics, internal medicine, imaging, and dentistry. All sites are equipped with up to date surgical and diagnostic technology, including imaging suites, dental facilities, onsite laboratories, and CT scanning. Each branch is a Cat Friendly Clinic with dedicated appointment times for feline patients.
Responsibilities- Oversee clinical standards and quality across multiple sites.
- Lead a team of 24 veterinarians and 50+ nurses, providing guidance, support and mentorship.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Drive strategic objectives and service development initiatives.
- Participate in and facilitate regular clinical meetings, both virtual and in person.
- Ensure the delivery of high quality out of hours care through the dedicated small animal hospital.
- Champion a culture of openness, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon or Nurse with a proven track record.
- Strong clinical credentials and expertise in one or more of the key specialties listed above.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and effective communication.
- Financial acumen and ability to oversee budgeting and performance metrics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability and a calm, resilient approach.
