Full Time (Part Time Considered) Independent Practice No OOH
An independent, 100% small animal, first opinion veterinary practice in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, North East England is seeking a compassionate and motivated Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and supportive team.
Located just 10 minutes from the coast, the practice benefits from Sunderland's exciting regeneration, offering excellent restaurants, water sports, and beautiful beaches - perfect for dog walks and work life balance.
The PracticeThis is a patient focused, independent small animal practice that genuinely prioritises team wellbeing. The practice fosters a calm, supportive environment with an open door policy, ensuring all team members feel valued both professionally and personally.
The practice is exceptionally well equipped, including:
- Digital X ray
- Ultrasound
- Endoscopy
- Electrocautery
- Comprehensive in house laboratory
- Imagyst for same day cytology results
The veterinary surgeon will be supported by an excellent team of highly skilled, qualified nurses, and the practice is proud to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse training practice.
The Role- 100% small animal, first opinion work
- Full time preferred, but part time applications are welcome
- 4 day working week with one full day off per week
- No on call or out of hours work
- 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
- Strong emphasis on work life balance and team culture
Regular social get togethers are encouraged, reflecting the practice's commitment to team wellbeing.
Candidate Requirements- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience preferred
- UK experience preferred
- Compassionate, patient focused, and able to work independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Visa sponsorship can be offered if required, although candidates with UK experience are preferred.
Salary & Benefits- Salary: £38,000 - £65,000 DOE
