A friendly, independent veterinary practice group in Central Scotland is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its growing team across Stirling and Callander. The practice forms part of an ambitious and growing independent veterinary group with three clinics across Scotland, offering a varied medical and surgical caseload within a collaborative and welcoming environment. The successful Veterinary Surgeon will work between the Stirling branch practice and a nearby consult only sister site, helping to deliver exceptional patient care while enjoying flexibility and autonomy in their role.
This role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon who is confident with sole charge, enjoys a varied caseload, and is passionate about providing outstanding care to both patients and clients.

The RoleThe successful Veterinary Surgeon will enjoy a varied role including consultations, routine surgeries, medical workups, and occasional emergency cases presenting during working hours.
This is a no Out of Hours (OOH) position, allowing for an excellent work life balance. Emergency provision is currently outsourced, with a new emergency facility opening in Stirling to improve accessibility for clients.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnosing and treating a broad range of small animal health conditions
- Performing routine surgical procedures and medical investigations
- Managing consultations and building strong relationships with clients and their pets
- Handling occasional emergency presentations during clinic hours
- Working confidently during sole charge days
- Collaborating closely with veterinary colleagues and nursing teams
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and high standards of patient care
- Participating in continued professional development and ongoing learning
The practice understands the importance of flexibility and offers a rota designed to support work life balance.
Typical rota includes:
- Ideally a 4 day week (40 hours)
- Flexibility for 5 shorter days if preferred
- Accommodation for earlier finishes or childcare commitments where possible
- Weekdays: 8:15am - 6:15pm
- 1 in 3 Saturdays: 8:30am - 12:30pm
- No Out of Hours work
- Fixed days off can be arranged to suit the successful candidate
The practice is seeking an experienced and proactive Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys both independent working and team collaboration.
Essential Requirements- Degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognised university
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Minimum 3 years' veterinary experience
- Confidence with sole charge and emergency presentations
- Competence in routine surgeries and general practice medicine
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential for travel to Callander)
- Ideally located within commuting distance of Stirling/Callander
Salary: £43,000 - £65,000 depending on experience and responsibilities
