Holly House Vets Moor Allerton has an exciting opportunity for a Vet Surgeon to join our team!
While this is a full-time permanent position, we welcome applications from candidates seeking flexible working arrangements. The role involves 40 hours over 4 days per week on a rota, with a 1 in 7 on-call rota and shared bank holiday duties, planned in advance.
Our practice group includes four practices in Leeds, three in North Leeds and one in Ilkley, requiring only occasional holiday cover.
The role encompasses surgical, medical, and emergency duties, including consulting, client care, routine and complex procedures, triage, inpatient care, and diagnostic testing (lab, radiography, CT) across various species such as cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles, birds, and small mammals.
Our Facilities and EnvironmentAs a general practice with mid-tier referral capabilities, led by certificate holders in surgery, medicine, dentistry, and exotics, we handle a varied caseload with high standards of case workup. Our facilities include advanced diagnostics like CT, ultrasound, laparoscopy, and endoscopy, in fully equipped practices featuring consulting rooms, an isolation ward, and a spacious prep/theatre suite. We utilize multiparameter monitoring and ventilators to ensure top-tier care for both first opinion and referral cases.
Location and TeamLocated just off the ring road in north Leeds near Roundhay Park, our practice offers excellent transport links. Our team comprises 19 vets, 19 RVNs (including night nurses), 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists, providing 24-hour care across our hospital, clinics, and exotics practice. With 30 years of operation, we host annual events, practice meetings, career development sessions, and professional coaching. We also run Schwartz Rounds to support emotional well-being.
