Job Description
Overview

Fareham Creek Veterinary Surgery is a thriving and independent small animal practice on the South Coast. We are long established, friendly and client focused, setting high standards of care. The surgery is an RCVS accredited General Practice and nurse training practice.

Team and culture

Our staff retention is high. The team currently includes 3.5 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 trainee vet nurse, 1 animal nursing assistant, receptionists and a cleaner. We have a good support network from colleagues and support staff. We are looking for a vet who values teamwork, high standards of care, and an open, inclusive, jovial working environment. CPD is encouraged and funded.

Role details

There is no on call. The role is part time, 3 days, 22.5 hours on average per week, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. A flexible working pattern will be considered for the right candidate.

Candidate profile

Candidates from any background and with any amount of experience are welcome. Members of our team have over 20-30 years of experience. Support and advice is always available from any of these vets. We are an RCVS Approved Graduate Development Practice. The role would suit someone seeking a part-time role in a practice with autonomy and a supportive team.

Practice and facilities

The practice has DR radiography and DR dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopes, blood and faecal machines, microscopy, and a good diagnostic toolkit.

Typical day and work pattern

Whist no two days are alike, a typical day includes two vets consulting 8:30-10:00, followed by operative work and a lunch break. Another vet starts early and conducts consults from 10:30-12:15, with lunch and afternoon sessions from 1:30-3:30. A good lunch break is factored in along with ample time for admin.

Salary

Salary £35,000-£75,000 pro rata.
