Veterinary Surgeon - Island life
Posted 1 hour 53 minutes ago by British Veterinary LGBT+
Imagine working in a picturesque setting, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Isle of Wight, just a short ferry ride from the mainland. This unique role offers the perfect blend of professional growth and personal fulfilment, within a vibrant and supportive team environment.
Enjoy the tranquillity of island life with easy access to Southampton, Portsmouth, and Lymington. The island boasts beautiful landscapes and a relaxed pace of life, ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle.
Join a dynamic mixed practice team of sixteen vets, sixteen nurses, three animal care assistants, and a dedicated management/admin team. The practice prides itself on fostering a collaborative and nurturing atmosphere.
Whether you're an experienced vet or a recently graduated, there are ample opportunities for growth. Enjoy a 4-day work week with a 1 in 10 out-of-hours rota and no full weekends. The practice also provides on-call nurse support and a second vet on call, ensuring a balanced workload.
Engage with a diverse range of cases, including small animals and exotics. The practice encourages vets to explore different areas of interest and develop their skills to a high level and they cover four return car ferry crossings per year, making it easier to stay connected with the mainland.
A degree in veterinary medicine is essential, along with a genuine interest in providing high-quality care to a variety of animals. The ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive work environment is crucial.
