Job Overview

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon seeking a fulfilling role in a dynamic and growing practice? Look no further! A well-established veterinary clinic in the vibrant town of Blackpool is expanding and looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their passionate team.

Practice Environment

This clinic, which has been serving the community for over two years, prides itself on providing exceptional care to its patients while ensuring a balanced work-life environment for its staff. The current team consists of the owner, who is also a practising vet, a part-time vet, two Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), and a practice manager. Together, they create a supportive and collaborative atmosphere where every team member's contribution is valued.

Work Schedule and Benefits

The role offers a flexible working schedule of 36 to 40 hours per week (across 3 to 4 days), with practice hours running from 9 am to 7 pm. The typical day includes morning consultations until 11 am, followed by surgery from 11 am to 3 pm, and afternoon consultations. Currently, there are no out-of-hours or weekend shifts, although Saturday mornings may be introduced in the future.

The clinic handles a steady caseload, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while delivering high-quality care. The salary for this role ranges from £55,000 to £65,000, and both RCVS and VDS fees are covered. Additionally, there is potential for funding certificates in areas of particular interest, enabling you to further develop your expertise.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is comfortable with sole charge responsibilities. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to providing the best possible care to their patients.
