We're looking for a Small Animal Consult-Only Vet to join our warm, supportive team at our newly refurbished Crewkerne branch in beautiful South Somerset. Here, your passion for client care and problem-solving will be truly valued, and your work-life balance will always be respected.

A Modern Practice with a Heart for the Community

Our Crewkerne branch has recently undergone a full refurbishment and offers an impressive clinical environment. You'll have access to two modern operating theatres, a fully equipped dental suite with digital dental X-ray, a large prep area, an imaging suite, and separate wards for cats and dogs. We've also got a dedicated isolation unit, a spacious dispensary, three consult rooms and a calm, inviting reception with separate cat and dog waiting areas. Our staff rest area is as lovely as it sounds, complete with a well-stocked biscuit tin.

What Your Day Will Look Like

We mainly treat dogs and cats, with the occasional rabbit, guinea pig or ferret adding a bit of variety to your day.

As a consult-only vet at Kingfisher Vets, your days will be focused on delivering exceptional care and building strong client relationships without the pressures of surgery. You'll enjoy a varied and engaging caseload, from routine health checks, vaccinations, and post-op reviews to diagnosing and managing medical cases. Our consult rooms are well-equipped, with everything you need at your fingertips, and our experienced nursing team is always on hand to support you. You'll have the time and space to give each patient the attention they deserve, with a friendly, knowledgeable team around you to discuss cases and share expertise.

A Team That Supports You - Every Step of the Way

At Kingfisher, you'll never feel like just a number. You'll be working alongside a team of 6 experienced vets, including one with a certificate in Small Animal Medicine, as well as 18 amazing RVNs, 2 student nurses, and an excellent support crew of receptionists, admin, and a dedicated practice manager. We also have regular visits from an orthopaedic surgeon, giving you access to even more expertise in-house.

Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do, we genuinely care for each other, our clients, and our patients. Whether you're bouncing ideas around, tackling a tough case, or just enjoying a coffee break together, you'll always feel part of something special here.

We're a team that enjoys working together and giving back, supporting both national and local charities such as Cats Protection, Guide Dogs and RSPCA.
