  • Exceptional work-life balance - no on-call, no Sundays, no bank holidays, and flexible rotas designed around you
  • Outstanding rewards and benefits - £50,000-£80,000 FTE salary, up to six weeks' annual leave, and generous CPD support
  • Modern, purpose-built facilities - digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house lab, and dedicated surgical suites for visiting specialists
  • Beautiful location with easy London access - set in the Chiltern Hills with direct links via the Metropolitan line

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their thriving, family-owned practice at the heart of the beautiful Chiltern Hills. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a growing independent veterinary group that's been redefining what it means to work in the veterinary sector for over fifteen years.

About the Practice

This isn't a corporate role focused on profit margins - it's a place where people and pets come first. With thirteen practices in total, the group offers the stability and resources of a large organisation while preserving the friendly, personal touch of a true independent. Independence isn't just part of their identity - it's their promise for the future.

Their success is built on mutual respect, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to work-life balance. There's no on-call, no Sunday work, and no bank holidays - just a flexible rota designed around the needs of each individual vet.

They believe in investing in their people and their facilities. All profits are reinvested into their staff and surgeries, ensuring modern, well-equipped environments and rewarding career paths. The group takes pride in leading the way on salaries, benefits, and annual leave - offering up to six weeks' holiday per year and regular refurbishment of every clinic to keep the workplace fresh and inspiring.

The Role

Based in a modern, purpose-built surgery opened in 2023, this role offers the chance to help shape and grow a rapidly expanding practice - currently increasing by 50% each year. The clinic is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasonography, and an Idexx in-house laboratory, plus dedicated surgical suites for both the resident team and visiting specialists in ophthalmology, soft tissue, and orthopaedics.

The successful candidate will initially take on a sole-charge role, supported by a talented team of 25 clinicians and 100 staff across the group. Collaboration and teamwork are at the heart of everything they do - you'll never feel isolated or without support.

The Rota
  • Full-time: 4-day week plus every third Saturday morning
  • Part-time: Flexible options available
  • No on-call, no Sundays, no bank holidays
The Package
  • Competitive salary £50,000 - £80,000 FTE, depending on experience and hours
  • Up to six weeks' annual leave
  • Loyalty bonus and staff referral reward schemes
  • Generous CPD budget with full encouragement for professional development
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Staff animals treated at cost and staff discounts available
Location

Situated in the idyllic Chiltern Hills, this location offers the best of both worlds - countryside charm with easy access to London via the Metropolitan line. Perfect for those who value a peaceful lifestyle but still enjoy the occasional city escape.

If you're an enthusiastic vet looking for a role where your voice matters, your wellbeing is valued, and your career can truly flourish - this could be the perfect next step.
