Veterinary Surgeon Small Animal Practice
Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice in Stockton-on-Tees. This role is ideal for an experienced vet with an interest in exotics, looking to work in a supportive, modern first-opinion environment.

Key Duties

Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care for small animals, including exotics Conduct consultations, routine surgical procedures, and treatment planning Work cases to a high clinical standard with support from nursing and administrative staff Occasionally cover weekend sole charge Maintain excellent client relationships and uphold high standards of patient care
Working Pattern

Full-time, ideally 40 hours per week Appointment times: 15 minutes per patient Weekend sole charge duties as required No routine out-of-hours responsibilities This structure provides an excellent work-life balance while contributing to a thriving practice.
Practice Facilities

First-opinion small animal practice with modern equipment for high-quality diagnostics and treatment Established, supportive team of veterinarians, nurses, and administrative staff Open Monday to Friday: 8am 7pm, Saturday: 8am 12pm

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK RCVS registration (or eligibility) Minimum 3 years' experience in small animal practice Confident with consultations, routine surgery, and weekend sole charge duties Positive, collaborative approach and commitment to patient care Interest in exotics is highly desirable
