Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Venue Manager for two of London's best venues.

Location: Shoreditch, East London (E1), EC2A 3PQ
Salary: From £35,000 to £40,000 per annum

Village Underground and EartH Hackney are two of East London's most iconic and dynamic live music venues, offering unforgettable experiences across music, arts, and culture.We host everything from intimate performances to large-scale events, and our venues are at the heart of Hackney's thriving cultural scene.

The Role:

  • As the Venue Manager, you will report to the General Managers at both sites.
  • You will be responsible for executing events at both Village Underground and EartH Hackney.
  • You'll ensure that our venues operate efficiently and that every event runs smoothly.
  • Your role will involve onsite team management, venue operations, health and safety compliance, liaising with artists, promoters, and the in-house production team.
  • You will be responsible for working between 3 - 4 night shifts a week, and your administrative responsibilities will vary depending on your experience and drive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the operational management of both Village Underground and EartH Hackney, ensuring efficient running of events and day-to-day activities.
  • Manage and lead a dedicated team, ensuring excellent customer service and staff satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure all events run smoothly, including pre-event coordination and post-event wrap-up.
  • Maintain venue health and safety standards, including crowd control, licensing, and risk assessments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for event promoters and artists to ensure their events run smoothly.
  • Monitor targets, expenses, and revenue, ensuring venues meet financial targets.
  • Manage customer feedback and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure the venues operate within all relevant regulations, including licensing laws and safety standards.

About You:

  • Proven experience in venue management, preferably in nightclubs, live music and events.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Passionate about music and the arts, with a deep understanding of the live events industry.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with artists, promoters, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and stay calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, licensing laws, and venue compliance requirements.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Hands on leadership style and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
