UX Designer/Researcher (Mortgage products)

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a UX Designer (Banking - Mortgage products) for a 6 months contract based in London (Hybrid - 1 time per week in the office)

Purpose of the Role:

As UX Designer/Researcher you will support the design and research efforts designing and supporting an high-impact mortgage product at a leading bank. This is a hybrid role with a strong focus on delivering user-centered design backed by robust research.

You'll work across multiple streams to bring consistency, clarity, and customer value to mortgage experiences, particularly within the bank's mobile app.

Responsibilities of the role:

As a UX Designer (Banking - Mortgage products) you will be responsible for:

• Support end-to-end UX design and research, from discovery to delivery.
• Work on the bank's mobile app, bringing information and consistency to the interface.
• Collaborate with the Design Lead, stakeholders, and journey managers to prioritise work packages.
• Conduct user research (UserZoom or other methods), usability testing, and translate insights into design.
• Create flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI using Figma.
• Help define the design system and interface standards in collaboration with peers.
• Support junior designers and work closely with a small team of experienced UX professionals.

What we require from the candidate:

• Proven experience in UX design and user research, in financial services or banking.
• Experience working in mortgage product is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with Figma and research platforms like UserZoom.
• Experience leading design initiatives across cross-functional teams.
