Job Description

User Researcher - Must have medical cause non-profit experience

We are seeking a thoughtful and experienced User Researcher to support a project focused on improving a direct referral system for our clients, a fantastic non-profit organisation. The role will involve close collaboration with the Product Manager, helping to uncover critical insights into a referral process that currently presents a blind spot in the user journey. While technical skills are not required, the successful candidate will work closely on the operational side of the product, using evidence and user feedback to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement in the patient and referrer experience.

The primary focus will be on understanding the lived experiences of patients, their family members, and friends who engage with the referral system. You'll conduct qualitative research to uncover pain points and validate or challenge assumptions the product team already has. Importantly, your insights will need to translate into actionable recommendations that can be implemented within a six-month roadmap. You'll be expected to not only explore and expand on areas of investigation but also support the product team in prioritising changes that have the greatest impact.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within healthcare or a charity dedicated to long-term illness. This naturally comes with a deep understanding of the sensitivities involved in engaging participants who may be navigating complex emotions or circumstances. You'll need to build trust quickly, navigate internal workflows with care, and demonstrate empathy both in user interactions and stakeholder communications. A strong understanding of user-centred design and research methodologies is essential.

This is a remote, part time role (3 days per week) for an initial duration of 2 months. Interviews will be conducted face to face in Central London.

Rate: £400-£480 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: Remote

Duration: 2 Months initially, part time
