Urgent Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Pay: £41,668.00 - £59,244.00 per year WTE
OverviewSummerside Medical Centre are urgently seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team on a temporary basis for 3 months initially. This is for 5 sessions per week ideally to include a Monday and Wednesday, however open to negotiation. We have full funding in place from NHS Lothian for the next 3 months. You will have a named GP along side you.
This role involves providing high-quality urgent care to patients, ensuring timely and effective treatment. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and medication administration. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, delivering essential healthcare services to the community.
At all times you will have a named GP on call with you to discuss and review patients where necessary.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with urgent health concerns, including history-taking and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Administer medications safely and effectively, ensuring patient understanding and consent.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary, maintaining accurate documentation of all clinical interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide health education and advice to patients and their families regarding management of conditions and preventive measures.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards and healthcare regulations at all times.
- Proven experience in patient care within urgent or emergency settings.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to acute care.
- Proficiency in medication administration, including injections, IV therapy, and prescribing within scope of practice.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to reassure and educate patients effectively.
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating seamlessly with other healthcare professionals.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and clinical demands in a temporary role.
