Role: Upstream and EPCI Quality Lead
Location: Paris, France
Duration: 12 months renewable
Travel: Regular missions to fabrication sites, offshore installation vessels, Mozambique, and other project locations.
The Upstream and EPCI Quality Lead reports to two lines: the EPCI Manager for EPCI quality activities and the Upstream Director for overall Upstream quality activities, including CPI (subsea production system, umbilical, onshore modules), Drilling & Completions, and EPCI packages (pipelines, subsea structures, flexibles).
The team reporting to this role may include approximately 3 full-time positions, with additional quality personnel embedded across various sites.
This role involves maintaining communication with CPI and Drilling & Completion Quality Leads to promote the Upstream Quality Management system.
The main responsibilities include managing quality activities related to Offshore Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) contracts, covering areas such as preservation of stored materials, flexible terminations, welding, NDT, coating qualifications, pipelines, subsea structures fabrication, offshore installation, and procurement.
Activities:
- Develop and implement the Upstream Quality Management System.
- Cascade the system across all packages.
- Serve as the technical focal point for Third-Party Inspection contracts.
- Determine quality resources and budget.
- Coordinate with HQ subject matter experts on quality issues.
- Lead quality performance and compliance efforts.
Within the EPCI scope:
- Manage and lead the Quality Team during all project phases.
- Monitor and manage quality activities to meet or exceed requirements.
- Implement a quality readiness process.
- Establish and organize the Quality Team structure.
- Identify and address quality issues promptly.
- Review contractor documentation and prepare project documentation.
- Participate in lessons learned and audit activities.
- Follow up on non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
Accountabilities:
- Implement the Upstream Quality Management System across all packages.
- Provide qualified quality resources as per plan and budget.
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of quality scope within the EPCI contract, maintaining a high standard aligned with a 30-year project life.
Qualifications/Experience:
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in quality assurance/control in engineering, fabrication, procurement, offshore installation, and pre-commissioning.
- Ability to manage interfaces between multiple contractors and internal teams.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
