Job Description

Salary: £12.50 per hour (9 hours per week pro rata)

Location: Well Hall training Ground, Kidbrooke Lane, Eltham, SE9 6TE

Hours of work: Tuesday, Wednesday 5.00-7.00pm, with Saturday training & weekend fixtures

Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time youth development phase coach to join Millwall Football Academy. The successful candidate will work with our U13s players, supporting the Head Coach and Lead Phase Coach in delivering the How We Play, Coach & Support strategies of Millwall Football Academy.

The primary focus of the U13s assistant coach will be to support the head and lead phase coach in planning, delivering and reviewing U13s training and matchdays, contribute to the development and review of players individual development plans, whilst maintaining accurate player records on the Millwall Intelligence Platform known as Kitman labs.

Across our allocated blocks of work, the assistant coach would be required to attend all department, multi-disciplinary and academy depth chart meetings, and participate in continuous professional development (CPD) sessions as part of Millwall's Coach Development Plan.

About The Candidate

Essential Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of UEFA B Licence
  • Experience in coaching academy youth development phase players
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrates professionalism and high standards in creating, implementing & reviewing individual player development plans, recording evidence, and providing feedback to players, parents and line managers
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of youth development coaching and development principles
  • Effective communication skills to deliver and support key messages, and sustain positive working relationships with the wider multidisciplinary team and U13s players
  • The successful candidate shall also display attributes that align with the values of the academy:

Desired Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience within other EPPP environments
  • Advanced Youth Award
  • Knowledge and understanding of EPPP requirements
  • In depth knowledge of football tactics, strategies & player development
